Dawn Brocco's Flower Baby Blanket
Pattern: Dawn Brocco's Flower Baby Blanket
Yarn: Plymouth Encore & Sidar worsted weight
Needles: I started with Bryspun circs (size 10.5) and changed over to Denise interchangeables - they were great when this started getting big, since I could just add more cable when I needed it.
This is a great pattern and was a lot of fun to knit. Since it calls for bigger needles and doubled yarn it seemed to just fly by. It's also one of those clever patterns that makes you feel smart when you're done. "look what I did!"
I didn't like the yarn in used in the center the first time around, so after I finished it I took out the middle and knit a new one. Nothing like cutting into a just-finished knit blanket to give you cold chills. It actually worked out great though.
I showed it off at knitting guild last night and had several people ask for particulars - I have a feeling that at least one of them will be ordering the pattern in short order.
I left it casually draped over the guest chair in my pregnant co-worker's office, so she would see it first thing this morning. It was definitely a hit.
So on to the next project - the guild's knit-a-long Bluebonnet Cardigan by Patricia Kalthoff. Pictures will eventually appear.
